Autodesk licensed software
Autodesk: AutoCAD and modules, 3D Studio VIZ and 3D Studio MAX
Carnegie Mellon participates in the Autodesk Comprehensive Education Solution (ACES), an annual license program that provides AutoCAD, 3D Studio VIZ and supplemental modules. Seats for 3D Studio MAX can be licensed under an addendum to the ACES program. Email software@andrew.cmu.edu for more information.
Note: The majority of copies licensed under this program have been claimed, but some seats remain to be sublicensed.

- Available for: Windows.
- Who can install it: Departments, faculty, staff.
- Eligible equipment: University owned/leased and personally owned computers on campus/at home.
- Type of license: Annual; December 1 renewal.
- Cost to users: Approximately $110/copy/license year; $150/copy/year for 3D Studio MAX.
- Getting access to it: Contact software@andrew.cmu.edu to arrange payment.
- How to get it: Borrow CDs from Computing Services Software Manager; purchase CDs from Synergis Technology.
- License code required: Yes. It is sent in email when payment is received and when upgrades are sent to license holders.
- Getting help using it: School of Computer Science does not provide user support for Autodesk products. Autodesk provides online technical support.
- Restrictions: Software can be used for academic, non-commercial purposes only.
- Individual use rights available upon termination: None. All copies must be deleted upon termination of affiliation with the University.
