GSA Volleyball 2004 **************************************************** These are the directions for the entry form. Further information can be found at http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~gsa-vball **************************************************** *********** Question 1: Maj = A college team would beat us, but they'd have to be paying at least a little attention while doing so Int = We're sort of competitive; we've got some skills but they're not all refined. We are perhaps "rough" in some areas. Min = We mostly want to have fun. We haven't played very much, or we are just learning, or we are intimidated by A and B. If you're not sure, make your best guess. It doesn't commit you to anything, and you are not restricted to playing people inside of your league. After a few weeks you will probably have a much better idea of which division is appropriate for you. *********** Question 2: You are encouraged to be creative, but regrettably, I must limit you to the printable "ASCII" character set (letters, digits, punctuation, spaces, and the like.) *********** Question 3: The team captain has two main jobs: - representing the team in interactions with me, regarding scheduling, problems, conflicts, etc. - organizing/cheerleading/recruiting for your own team, getting them to show up on game day, etc. The captain will need e-mail and Web access. *********** Question 4: All games will be scheduled between 6PM and 10PM on Sundays (last game starts at 9PM). If you know about time conflicts now, put them down. Otherwise tell me later. I will try to be as accommodating as possible, but please realize that every new time conflict makes scheduling the league more difficult for me; please try to burden me with only serious/unavoidable conflicts. *********** Question 5: Include here all members of your team and how they are affiliated with Carnegie Mellon (e.g., Student in Department X, Spouse or Significant Other of faculty member Y). All Carnegie Mellon graduate students, faculty, staff, and their significant others are eligible to play. Regrettably, undergraduates are not eligible to play (this is a constraint imposed by our funding arrangement with GSA). The roster must consist of at least 6 people. To avoid a forfeit, at least four people must show up to play. A person may play on ONE team only. Note: we are quota-free (and rule-free) with respect to gender: you may mix (or not) males and females to whatever extent you wish. However CMU is interested in the participation by gender, so we ask you to list that below. *********** Question 6: If you supply me images in some appropriate digital format (GIF/JPEG/etc) I will put them on the web page. Sorry, I can't scan things for you. This is mostly for fun and to give people an idea of what everyone looks like. You are encouraged to be creative, but please nothing offensive in any way.
