Example-Based Machine Translation

The Generalized Example-Based Machine Translation project was a four-year (1997-2001) project funded by the National Science Foundation (Grant IIS-9618941) which aimed to increase the effectiveness with which an Example-Based Machine Translation system can use available parallel text. Work on the EBMT system has continued since then, at a somewhat slower pace, in the context of numerous other machine translation projects.
