Carnegie
Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh have joined
forces to establish an exciting new interdisciplinary program
leading to a Ph.D. in
Computational Biology. Faculty members from the Department
of Biological Sciences and the School of Computer Science
will join colleagues at Pitt in launching this joint program
The goal of the Ph.D. program is to provide intensive interdisciplinary
education to enable outstanding students to become leaders
in identifying and solving tomorrow's biological problems
using computational methods.
In recognition of this important milestone, the DSF Charitable
Foundation, a Pittsburgh-based philanthropy, has agreed to
match 1:1 gifts to Carnegie Mellon for the new PhD program.
The challenge ends on November 30, 2006 |
