New PAT bus to the airport, Route 28X

The port authority has instituted bus service between the airport, downtown and Carnegie Mellon. This service is called the 28X or the airport flyer. Service begins at Carnegie Mellon (Morewood and Forbes), with another pick up at Fifth and Bigelow Blvd., then a stop at 7th avenue downtown, then on to the airport. There is a small luggage rack for baggage and you will be responsible for your own baggage.
It runs 7 days a week, leaving Morewood and Forbes beginning at 5:30 a.m. with the last run to the airport leaving at 10:45 p.m. The final run from the airport will leave about 11:55 p.m. to return to Oakland. The bus is scheduled to run every 45 minutes. The cost is $1.95 each way and if you want to go somewhere other than Oakland you can get a transfer for another $.25 and change buses downtown. Currently, Carnegie Mellon is offering a free bus pass sticker to eligible faculty, staff, and students. See the CMU Human Resources page for more information.
