The SmartTools Lab is in need of students to work on an NSF funded research project this summer. In this project, we are building software that can understand engineering sketches drawn on an electronic whiteboard. We are creating a specialized machine learning approach to learn to recognize sketched objects. We are also developing a novel parsing algorithm which uses temporal information to disambiguate roughly sketched objects. Solid C++ programming skills are required as well as some experience with OpenGL. Experience with the Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) is also desirable. This is a great opportunity to be involved in the creation of an exicting new technology. If you are interested please contact Professor Stahovich as soon as possible. -------------------------------------------- Thomas F.
