/afs/cs/project/avalon contains the following (this is not an exhaustive list)::

  README -- A description of some of the Avalon directories (this is a symbolic
	    link into the release area)

  avasrc -- Avalon/C++ sources and related files for distribution.

  clisp -- Avalon/Common Lisp sources

  release -- A symbolic link to the current Avalon/C++ release.

  src -- Avalon/C++ sources.  See avasrc/desc.doc for more information.

Most of the top-level files are symbolic links into the release area.  Each
machine type has its own directory (e.g. .pmax_mach).  There is also a .common
directory which contains files that are common to all machines.  The .common
directory currently contains common files for the Avalon/C++ that goes with
Camelot version 83.
