The Chiara
Some folks (Dave Touretzky, Gaku Sato, Ethan Tira-Thompson, and David Rice) in the Tekkotsu Lab at Carnegie Mellon are building a hexapod robot called the Chiara. It uses Dynamixel AX-12+ servos.

The front legs will have four degrees of freedom.
Each leg has a tibia composed of two plates linked by two cross-braces.
The foot is a sharp point to prevent slippage on carpet.
The middle and back legs have three degrees of freedom.
