November Critical Windows, Mac, and Adobe security updates
Microsoft released new patches for critical Windows and Microsoft Office vulnerabilities on November 10, 2009. Also, Adobe recently released critical patches for Adobe Shockwave Player. Details
LINUX.GP operating system upgrade scheduled
On Thursday, November 5, 2009 SCS Computing Facilities will begin upgrading the Linux general purpose servers (linux.gp.cs.cmu.edu) from the current OS FC5 to F10. Details

Windows 7 Information Update
On October 22, 2009 Microsoft released the Windows 7 operating system. Vendors will be shipping new PCs with this new OS. SCS Computing Facilities does not currently support this new OS. Details.
Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard Information Update
Apple has recently released OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), and all new Macs are shipping with this new OS. SCS Computing Facilities does not currently support this software release but will provide a best effort support until Mac OS X 10.6 is fully supported. Details

New Cisco VPN Client released for SCS users
SCS Computing Facilities has released a new version (5.05.290) of the Windows 2000, XP and Vista VPN client for 32 bit machines. Details
