Bonjour!
I am a PhD student in the Robotics Institute, Carnegie Mellon University, working under the supervision of Prof. Alexei (Alyosha) Efros. I am interested in computer vision and computer graphics, and especially at the intersection of both. With my advisor, I am exploring data-driven techniques that exploit the large amount of available image data to "learn, understand, and resynthesize our visual world".

Here's what would happen if we were to merge both James' and my paper together into one system (courtesy of The Daily Mail).
I spent last summer working in a cool startup company in Pittsburgh named Penthera Technologies. It was a great opportunity for me to discover how things work in the "real world". I got to play around with PDAs, cell phones and high-bitrate streaming video.
I come from the beautiful city of Québec, Canada, and graduated in May 2004 from Laval University in computer engineering. This is where I discovered computer vision, and since then I have been totally captivated by it.
