Practicum Sponsorship
The final component of the MSIT eBusiness master's program is a practicum project where students apply their skills to a real-world problem. For your organization, this is an opportunity to deploy a team of skilled practitioners on an R&D, prototype, or pilot project. It's a win-win situation all around!
Students get the opportunity to apply what they have learned in their coursework and work closely with a corporate sponsor during the capstone eBusiness Practicum project course. They spend their final semester(s) of the program developing a working ebusiness system prototype to address a problem or opportunity defined by the corporate sponsor.
Students are assigned to 5 or 6 person teams based on their preferences, working experience and skill set. All students work on all aspects of the project.
Potential sponsors need to submit a one-page problem summary and assign a key contact to work with the student team throughout the 8-week project.
Please forward your proposal, along with any inquires, to Patricia Mackiewicz at patty@cs.cmu.edu or (412) 268-7077.
