When our design team began to think of a new toy concept to produce, we thought of different environments we’d enjoyed playing and interacting in as children. One common favorite pastime of our group was water-based activities. Therefore, we decided to focus our efforts on creating a fun and interactive toy a child could play with in the water, be it a bathtub, pool or…lake! One toy we were all familiar with was the rubber band powered balsa wood airplane and we asked ourselves how we could apply this to a boat leading us to design a simple wind up boat.
