FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS International Workshop on Advanced Parallel Processing Technologies APPT'95 September 26-27, 1995, Beijing, China Currently, the economic and scientific relations between China and other countries are becoming more and more closer. In pace with further opening and reform of the Chinese economy, a new opportunity for starting and intensifying international cooperation is provided. Such cooperation can be a fruitful challenge for research institutes as well as for the industry to establish common research and development projects. For this purpose, a workshop on advanced methods for parallel and distributed processing will be held in Beijing, September 26-27, 1995. This workshop results from the cooperation between Northern Jiaotong University and University of Koblenz-Landau and is planned to be held in future alternately in China and Germany. It will provide a forum for scientists and engineers to exchange up-to-date research results and experiences about parallel computer systems and to establish long-term coorperation in developing innovative products towards future market situations. The workshop will focus on both theory and applications. The working language is English. Besides invited keynote talks, papers describing original unpublished research work are solicited. The topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following: - Innovative computer architectures - Parallel and distributed algorithms - Automatic parallelization of software - High-speed networks and services (information highways) - Design and development tools - Modelling of parallel systems (e.g., with Petri nets) - Performance measurement and analysis - Neural networks and their applications - Artificial intelligence Submission Procedures: ---------------------- Submissions must be written in English and should include title, author's name, mailing address, telephone number, fax number, email address, an extended abstract (max. 5 A4-pages), and max. 5 keywords. They should be sent to: Prof. Jiazhong Ding /Siwei Lou Dept. of Computer Science and Technology Northern Jiaotong University Beijing, 100044, P.R.
