Greetings and welcome to the Runebearer website. Runebearer is a free fantasy roleplaying game that has been around in some form or another for about 10 years. The game is an amalgam of systems and playstyles that my gaming groups and I have enjoyed over the years. If you are a fan of the Hero System, GURPS, Rolemaster, or d20, you will likely find something to like about Runebearer. Check out the FAQ, download the rulebook and enjoy.
I apologize because this site does not get the attention that it once did. The guy who designs and maintains the site, Tom, has moved on to other things and so we have not been making regular updates. However, that does not mean that we are dead; there is a lot of new material on our forums. Please, stop by the forums and check out the posts and downloads available there.
I encourage everyone to stop by the forums for new material, new games, and ongoing discussions about Runebearer, other RPGs, computer games, and MMOs. It is an active forum, but we could always use more people reading and posting. Also, if you have any questions or comments about Runebearer, feel free to post your question on the forums, or you can contact me directly and I will do my best to answer your concerns.
