San Francisco, 2004

(March 11th -- March 15th, 2004) We visited San Francisco and the Bay Area after our trip to Hawaii.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg once said that San Francisco is a "very nice litter town." Well, to some extent. San Francisco is a very nice place, except that it is not quite little. Granted that it is smaller than NYC (so that Bloomberg isn't exactly lying), it is by no means less charming. The weather was perfect when we visited, which was an exception, locals say. We love the crabs at the fishermans' wharf, the roasted chicken as Zuni Cafe, and the crepes at Pier 39. Driving through the Lombard Street is a lot of fun; the Union Square is interesting enough to rival its counterpart in NYC (although it does depend on which side you are on: a gourmet afficioniado or a fashion passionate) not to mention the Golden Gate bridge...

Both Berkeley and Stanford are nice. I like the atmosphere of the former better, but the latter is obviously more beautiful.

I think it is one place in USA that I can live and love.
