2005/6/14 about 20:45 EDT. This is again a sunset rainbow, therefore the rainbow is very high and close to half a circle. Unfortunately my Nikon coolpix 995 cannot take in the whole rainbow even at the widest zoom. Unlike the red rainbow saw last month , this one has vivid yellow and green colors. This is because the air was quite clear and the sunlight was not significantly redden. All photos had a polarizer filter on. The following photos show the primary and secondary rainbows, supernumerary arc, and polarization of rainbow. From Green Tree, Pittsburgh.

The light from rainbow is highly polarized. The above sequences show the seemingly disappearance of the rainbow by turning the polarizer 90 degrees. The actual rainbow was of course still there.
